The short version

Splatpad does not collect any data. Full stop.

There is no account to create, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifier, no advertising and no third-party SDK bundled into the app. Golka runs no server for it, so nothing about you or your child ever reaches us.

The longer version

What follows spells that out in the terms the App Store review process expects.

Data the app collects

None.

Splatpad has no server. It is not connected to any backend operated by Golka or by anyone else, so there is no mechanism by which usage data, personal data or diagnostic data could reach us — even accidentally.

Data the app keeps on your device

Only your settings: the background colour, the shape and colour choices, whether shapes fade, whether sound is on, and the language. They live in the app’s own storage on your device, are never transmitted, and are removed when you delete the app.

What a child draws exists only on the screen while the app runs. It is not saved anywhere unless a parent chooses to save it.

Saving a picture

Saving is always a deliberate action by a parent. On the Mac the standard save dialog appears, starting in Pictures → Splatpad; the app is allowed to save into your Pictures folder for this purpose and does not read or look at anything else there. On iPhone and iPad the standard share sheet opens, and you decide whether the picture goes to Photos, Files, Messages or nowhere at all. Golka never receives it.

Keys and touches

The app reads key presses and touches inside its own window only so that it can draw and play a sound. It does not record them, log them or store them. In letters mode on the Mac, the letters typed are shown on the screen and then forgotten.

Permissions

Splatpad asks for none of the sensitive ones: no camera, microphone, location, contacts, access to your Photos library, tracking or network access. The Mac version runs in Apple’s App Sandbox, and its only extra permission is saving pictures into your Pictures folder, as described above.

Third parties

There are none. No analytics provider, no crash reporter, no advertising network, no embedded SDKs, no links that lead out of the app without a parent opening the parent menu first.

Purchasing the app is handled entirely by Apple. Golka receives only the sales reports Apple provides to every developer, which are aggregated and contain no information identifying you. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s privacy policy, not this one.

Children

Splatpad is made for small children, and it collects nothing from anyone, of any age. There is no advertising, no in-app purchase and no way for a child to contact anyone or reach the internet from inside the app.

Deleting your data

Deleting the app removes its settings from that device. Pictures you saved are your own files, in your own Pictures folder, Photos or Files, and stay until you delete them. Golka holds nothing, so there is nothing to request from us.

Changes to this policy

If a future version changes any of this, this page will be updated before that version ships, and the change will be described plainly rather than buried.
